The context
Project overview
Beacon Legal works across private practice, in-house recruitment, interim appointments and executive search. The website has to speak to employers making a significant hiring decision and lawyers considering their next move. We designed and developed a shared platform with distinct paths for those audiences.
Project purpose
Make the recruitment offering easy to understand, give candidates access to relevant vacancies and help both audiences identify a consultant who understands their market.
Business needs addressed
- Explain the differences between private practice, in-house, interim and executive search services.
- Support vacancy discovery by legal specialism and geography.
- Connect service expertise with consultant profiles and direct contact routes.
The design challenge
What the experience needed to solve.
The same visitor journey cannot adequately serve a hiring partner, an in-house legal leader and a candidate browsing roles. A further challenge is the depth of the legal recruitment market: location, seniority and practice area all affect relevance. Those distinctions needed to appear clearly without making the site feel like an administrative database.
Our solution
Design and development, together.
We organised the information architecture around service lines and made the jobs area a dedicated discovery tool. A strong typographic identity and a restrained palette give the brand presence, while consultant information introduces the people behind the service. Detailed service pages carry the supporting explanation, allowing the main navigation to stay focused.

Inside the website
Features with a purpose.
Segmented recruitment services
Separate service pages address different hiring relationships, including private practice and interim recruitment through Beacon Legal Connect.
Filtered job discovery
The jobs interface exposes practice area, jurisdiction, role and contract filters to help candidates narrow opportunities before reading a vacancy.
Consultant context
Profiles and professional links place relevant consultants alongside service information, turning a general enquiry into a more informed conversation.
Resources and reassurance
Recruitment resources, FAQs and published recruitment feedback help visitors understand the service and prepare their next step.
User experience
A journey built around the audience.
Candidates can focus on opportunities while employers can examine expertise and service fit. This separation reduces competition between the two calls to action. Clear headings and structured vacancy information support quick scanning, with longer service content available when a visitor needs more detail.
Across screen sizes
A considered mobile experience.
The mobile layout brings the main recruitment pathways into a compact menu and stacks the editorial content. Vacancy information remains text-led, which is especially useful for candidates reviewing roles on a phone rather than studying a full desktop page.
